For 35 years, Cebu People's Multi-Purpose Cooperative provides Livelihood, Free Education
For its contribution to the community the Cebu People's Multi-Purpose Cooperative (CPMPC) received a special citation from the Cebu City Government during the Charter Day Celebration.

Also known as People's Coop, CPMPC has become more aggressive in its initiatives to reach communities in line with its belief that "to develop is to expand to other institutions," said Macario G. Quevedo, chief executive officer of CPMPC.
With its 35 years of existence, People's Coop has not only helped small-time entrepreneurs but has also given education to children and has helped families earn extra through livelihood program.
The coop has seen an increase in members as well as in its net income and deposits. The growth makes it capable to help more people.

PRE-SCHOOL
People's Coop was also able to help parents send their six year old children to school through the "Pre School Contracting Program with DepEd".
The program helps children who failed to attend the regular pre-school classes. The coop tapped the existing program of the Department of Education.
Funds were allocated to 88 classes consisting of 25 students each, in the Cebu City school districts. San Nicholas, Tejero, Labangon, City Central, Mabolo, Guadalupe, and Pardo.
Each student was allocated P300 budget per month to cover the cost of books and other learning materials and teachers salary.
After the school period the government is expected to reimburse People's Coop of its expenses for the program.
The program has also provided parents an opportunity to become members of the coop and to put a business through the livelihood trainings. They could also become part of the ASAP program.
The preschool program of People's Coop also generated employment to 60 teachers.
ANGKAT SA PUHUNAN (ASAP)
Its Angkat Sa Puhunan (ASAP) program is designed to assist small-time entrepreneurs who want to join People's Coop as regular members and avail themselves of its lending services but cannot pay the membership fee and initial share capital of P700.00.
People's Coop will lend them a minimum of P5,000 to support their existing businesses, and help them put up an additional capital.
This will also enable them to pay the membership fee and initial share capital by installment.
INSTITUTIONAL CHAPTERS
People's Coop has more than a hundred of Institutional Chapters which consists of organization and companies who want to avail themselves of the services of the cooperative such as the Coop Social Service Packages provided to its members.
The program also allows them to access financial support to put up a business which should be feasible and sustainable.
Applicants need to submit a business plan . In addition, the employee of the companies can also avail themselves of the salary loans.
Peoples Coop also has associate members, like the Kiddie Savers, who want to avail themselves of a saving and time deposits with a special interest rates.
SERVICES
In addition, People's Coop has established networks through affiliations with non-governments organizations, that in turn, organized groups and share the coop's services
They also provide trainings and seminars to members officers and staff through the "Formation of Cooperative Officers, Staff and Members (FOCOSM) program. and hold leaders congress, assemblies and lakbay arals.
All of these programs strengthen its aims to be a facility that is willing to extend help to people. Likewise, regular and associate members also have their own counterparts to help them
